Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is an upcoming Indian crime thriller movie based on the fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi.The film is directed by Dibakar Banerjee and produced by Banerjee and Aditya Chopra.The film is scheduled for release on April 3, 2015.

The first official trailer of the ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ movie released online on January 21, 2015. It has already crossed over 1 million views on YouTube with in three days and is racing fast towards two million views. The film trailer introduces under-cover detective Sushant who gets his first case which may turn into a mistake if he is not careful.


Sushant Singh Rajput plays the famous detective Byomkesh Bakshy character (title character) in the film. According to Sushant he didn't watch any detective series to prepare himself for the character. Sushant said at the film's trailer launch here on Wednesday.

"Dibakar (Dibakar Banerjee) very categorically told me not to watch any films or TV series that have been already made on Byomkesh Bakshi. Whatever I had was the script....whatever inputs Dibakar gave to me, I worked on that,"

The Maroon 5's 2015 single "Sugar" video was filmed late last month by director David Dobkin, the person behind Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn’s film ‘Wedding Crashers’. The video was filmed around the city of Los Angeles, California on several locations including at the ballroom of Park Plaza Hotel.
